The Great Chefs from around the world
10

Sergio Herman (37 years of age, 3 Michelin stars, the Netherlands) is one of the most important representatives of a new generation of chefs in Europe. His culinary feats are based on professionalism, sensitivity, the finest products from Zeeland and the latest culinary techniques. The kitchen of his restaurant is one great culinary experiment. This is what makes Sergio tick: spontaneous, fast, enthusiastic, straightforward and very demanding on himself and his team.

Sergio Herman: "the evolution of the kitchen will never stop. Each day we are busy perfecting our performance of the previous day. This proces gradually evolves into something that is renewing and innovative."

Oud Sluis has run for three generations and current patron, Sergio Herman, has remained true to its founding principles – capitalising on the Zeeland coast's fresh fish and oysters.

This is no ordinary seafood restaurant, however. Herman's quest for flavour-matches of Italian and Japanese influence, such as langoustine with artichoke, Iberico ham and kaffir lime leaves, has earned him a reputation as one of the country's most inspiring chefs.
